Dan Borten

Dan Borten brings 40 years of life insurance, disability, and long-term care planning experience to his role as Pinnacle’s Director of Insurance Solutions in the DMV. For most of his career, Dan consulted on public-corporation deferred compensation plans funded with COLI/BOLI products, working for a specialty broker and as a wholesaler for two of the largest US insurance companies. While working for an Independent Broker Dealer, Dan helped drive insurance sales through 500+ advisors in a National Account partnership with Pinnacle. In his present role with Pinnacle, it is Dan’s mission to help advisors address myriad client goals and risks with appropriate insurance products.

• Assist advisors in the creation of a new “vector of revenue” by incorporating insurance planning into their practice for individuals and business owners to manage risk, minimize taxes, and preserve assets.
• Consult with advisors on client objectives and offer compelling solutions.
• Provide point-of-sale support with the client as an extension of the advisor’s team.
• Help make complicated, intangible insurance products understandable and actionable.

Dan earned his Bachelor of Science in Finance, cum laude, from Lehigh University. He holds Series 6 and 63 securities licenses. Dan is a lifelong resident of Maryland in the DC suburbs. He spends his free time participating in various sports (cycling, baseball, yoga, waterskiing) with family and friends. Each fall Dan participates in Ride Allegheny, a 310-mile ride from Pittsburgh to DC, to raise money for Operation Second Chance in support of wounded veterans and suicide prevention.
